Join Me in Seeking Attention Anonymous

Join Me.

All I ask is that you join me on this journey. Join me as we leave behind our search for others’ approval and set our sights on our self-defined sense of worth.

For me, the journey has already lasted longer than I thought it would.

At this point, I intend it to last a lifetime. I search for new ways to create the boundaries that will make me comfortable in any given relationship and set the limits that will make me more productive and less anxious. I seek alternatives to apologizing. I traverse new ground in learning how to say no.

You don’t have to know where this journey will end, only that it needs to begin.

Let’s seek Attention Anonymous.

It’s as if you are speaking directly to me. This has been a constant struggle for me in my life. It is hard, but worth it in the end.

    • Dawn,

I completely agree. It is at first easy to pacify people and give them what they want. It is you who hurts, of course, when you must then arrange your life around that response.

If you’re working toward a stronger you who finds ways everyday to be more assertive and responsive to your own needs, then you’re doing all the right things. Way to go!
